Re-writing this since I removed a lot of the word filters that messed with the original post. Welcome to /y2k/! This is a board for talking about anything and everything from the 2000's, especially Internet culture from the time.

RULES

1. Remember the 8chan global rule - any illegal content will be removed either by me or the global admins.

2. This is a SFW board. NSFW content, spoilered or not, will be removed.

3. No modern slang; it's annoying to other users and will just be removed provided it isn't already filtered.

4. No spamming or flooding the board.

5. Don't post personal information about anyone but yourself.

6. Don't send false reports, or "over-report" over 9000 posts.

7. No political discussion. Images about political events from the time are moar or less k, but meaningless bickering over Bush and 9/11 will result in a ban.

8. Have fun!

I use an old CRT as my second monitor. Funnily enough I found it in the tip about a month ago, it's in fantastic condition for a 1997 monitor and was just going to be thrown away so I couldn't leave it there. When I got home I cleaned it up and now it's sitting on a small coffee table next to my desk.

I fucking forgot this existed. I'm going to have to go through a bunch of old ass emails to get into my account. I used to play this after I gave up on trying to play maplestory because it crashed as soon as I opened it, but this worked just fine, so I treated it like it was 2d runescape and grinded my level and shit for a little and thought it was really hard for some reason. Once I got the Lots'a Guns attack I think it was called I remember grinding on those drum monsters which hurt a ton. The rest of the time I would go around actually socializing with the other kids on there, for some reason I felt really comfortable just jumping into conversations and making friends and shit on there and being a cringy nigga in general without the slightest clue. It really was the best, and I am seriously wondering how in the god damn its still up

I'm looking for a 2000s era song (maybe 90s). It had a choir for a chorus repeating the same line of "Ava solai" or something like that. It was softly sung and sounded like a woman. It didn't sound like a traditional choir song but more of a weird pop mix with choir. I heard it once on the radio on a pop station. Pic unrelated.

I find 80's - 90's hentai comics almost charming in a way because they remind me of that time. But I also live in Japan and they are DIRT cheap here (there's some 70's survivors too but they're rare and "expensive", and not really all that fappable), I know of one shop where I can buy three of them for less than a hundred yen.

The art is by and large "wonky" and bad, but you can fap to some of them. By contrast all modern hentai books look more or less the same and the adult women have insane proportions. Plus the artists like to draw their cow tits bouncing back and forth with speed lines, so it looks like they all have 8 nipples. Only the lolicon is arousing, and when it comes to IRL I'm a MILF fucker, so that's saying something.

>>1588

Eh, close enough. I was in Boka Kotorska once so I guess that counts.

>>1636

I'm no expert but from what I've seen of older ecchi stuff much of it seemed too realistic in the art department for it to be interesting to me - this is also why I've always found western porn comics meaningless, dull and totally devoid of eroticism. The pro stuff of course, fanart is different. Also, old 80s loli stuff didn't leave a great impression on me but I admit I haven't gone too deep into it. My attraction to loli is largely character winrar rather than random.

However, I have a soft spot for early 90s ecchi stuff (pic unrelated). I have a bunch of old Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 pics from cca 1992 - 1995 period, 16bit color and all which were making rounds when I first got on the Net. None of it is rare and hard to find, to avoid /r/'s. I find them charming.

Ah dude, I totally know what you mean.

I did hang out with a lot of scenesters, but all and all my social area spanned the entirety of my age group. Mostly drifted towards /b/tard/anon mentality people though - oh which, conicidemtally, most I've met were also dressing in the scene fashion.

 No.1737

File: 70faa5a017bec22⋯.jpg (122.25 KB, 800x602, 400:301, 1537060451893.jpg)

I used to be somewhat of a local internet emo celeb around 06-07. Before the dawning of facebook, there were still local social networks competing for position with myspace. So you'd get entire nieche social-networks specific to one area. We had one such thing up here in western Canada called nexopia. We also had a pretty hardcore emo scene, one that a vast majority of kids connected with through Nexopia.

Being an emo/scene kid back then was really fun as everyone genuinely felt like they were honest about themselves. Good and bad, we were all shitheads that shared our experiences together. And we partied fucking hard man. Now I'd think a lot of that stuff is degenerate but I never used to consider them that way even a little bit at the time; They were all great people and I had very high hopes for us, like we could change the world if we don't end up killing ourselves first.

Of course, most did end up becomming the biggest of hipster faggot trash and completely forgot how to see the world and became everything they said they'd never be. So it is.

I have a theory that the vaporwave/synthwave scenes that flourished, mostly on the internet, in the last decade were composed of some of the OG scenesters who "grew up" but I have no way of confirming.

>>1436

Indeed, an entire gang of stoned and drunk emos was enough to shut anyone up due to sheer shock I imagine.

Those days were such fun times. So many kids who just did not give a fuck together.

>>1414

Joke's on you pal: They were 90% whores and completely unlike pure 2D. I would know.

Do you guys consider halfchan/f/ as a good board to browse? I'm surprised it still doesn't seem to have all the lingo and stuff from the rest of the boards, but that may be since I only go there once in a blue moon

With the deprecation of flash coming in the next decade, does it mean that internet sites will no longer be able to host .swf files? What if I had a VPS and wanted to host a site with .swf files, would that work, would it require coding in some specific language?
