I was thinking recently about marketing, and they really are the scum of the world when they pretend everyday people want what they are selling. They just tell them they want it, and then blame everyday people as greedy for doing what they want.

Im pretty sure thats why they use asskissing methods with their employees treating buyers like royal gods, it does not need to be done, but they do it so the marketers can act like they are being victimised.

They just want to take your money, and are being highly disrespectful in the action of being overly polite to you.

They are essentially beggars, this is why merchantss were traditionally the lowest class globally.

Normies also caught on and threw their children under the merchant bus during the highest targetting attempt by businesses targeting children, their parents did not protect them, they blamed them as greedy and demanding, when they were just children being told what they wanted.

As a feminist I think Age of consent needs to increase to 21, since 18 is pedophilic

My rule is: Divide your age in half and add seven. That's how young you can date. So if you're 30, you can't date anyone younger than 22. Seems reasonable.

>>2723911

>Civilised countries have age of consent set at ~15

Yeah but a lot of those countries are not going to allow older men to have sex with teenagers. So the age of consent is 15 but if you're older than, say, 18, then you're still going to be prosecuted. But the technicalities vary between countries.

This is true in some U.S. states as well. The age of consent in Texas is actually 14 but only with partners who are no more than three years older. So sex between 14- and 17-year-olds is legal, but not between 20-year-olds and 14-year-olds.

 No.2724165

>>2724148

Thats really how it should be. It should actually extend down to age 12, with the maximum age of the older partner increasing with each year up to about 17 or 18 at which point you can have sex with anyone of any age older than you.

So, itd go like,

12 year olds can be fucked by 12-13 year olds

13 year olds can be fucked by 12-14 year olds

14 year olds can be fucked by 13-16 year olds

15 year olds can be fucked by 14-18 year olds

16 year olds can be fucked by 14-20 year olds

17 year olds can be fucked by 15-25 year olds

18 year olds can fuck anyone older than them they want

or something roughly like that.

Ripeto: attenzione a Parnasino.

- indebolirebbe ulteriormente i cinque stelle nei continui scazzi interni al governo;

- la Meloni, come chiunque altro abbia guidato Roma di recente, si logorerà molto presto e questo porterà nella tomba ciò che rimane di FdI, lasciando il monopolio del voto di destra a Salvini e alla Lega;

Marxists since at least Lenin have acknowledged that capitalism drives migration from the lesser-developed nations to the more prosperous countries with higher wages and overall better standards of living. We saw this in the nineteenth century with European workers moving to America and today with Central American migrants into the United States or economic migrants and war refugees into Europe. It is no secret that these workers are super-exploited and often relegated to the status of an underclass, but as Lenin said:

>only reactionaries can shut their eyes to the progressive significance of this modern migration of nations. Emancipation from the yoke of capital is impossible without the further development of capitalism, and without the class struggle that is based on it. And it is into this struggle that capitalism is drawing the masses of the working people of the whole world, breaking down the musty, fusty habits of local life, breaking down national barriers and prejudices, uniting workers from all countries

Capitalism has certainly developed in some ways since when these words were written in 1913 and the world is globalized more than ever, meaning labor moves from place-to-place with less restrictions than ever before. There seems to be an extreme anti-immigrant attitude from some corners of /leftypol/ which conspiratorially paints these immigrants as merely the pawns of capital, forgetting about the self-interest of these workers to come here in the first place. This attitude is completely against the internationalist spirit of Marxism and is a nationalist deviation. The systematic education of workers against sexist, racist, nationalistic and xenophobic prejudices will be a blow against the power of capital to keep the working people divided.

You dont have to be anti immigration to be 'anti pro-immigration'. Saying you are anti immigrant if you oppose liberal immigration is setting up a false dichotomy.

The problem is caused by a lack of any real leftist political force. The right (which is still more 'anti change' than actually formally fascist/racist in the majority of its numbers) is of course against immigration for xenophobic purposes (native workers also have valid complaints), this leaves the only notable pro-immigration body as liberals. The problem is immigrants will come and, due to having nobody else to really turn to for political support, become pawns as they are driven to the only visible friendly faction.

The current situation sees people who simply dont want progress fighting liberal progress, and i would say stopping liberal progress is more useful to socialism than letting it entrench itself even further, because the kind of progress liberals bring is only enslavement through security. You can not claim the kind of social welfare they provide brings us any closer to a more empowered or potentially revolutionary working class, as these things are specifically designed to placate and keep the lower classes in line.

Therefore the correct task would be to oppose liberal immigration while simultaneously doing what ever can be done to attract immigrants to the left by providing visible support and explaining why the people claiming to want to help them are only trying to exploit them.

If a strong and visible left party is present, then you can encourage immigration from that platform.

I think people tend to miss that in that work Lenin's thought process is that those people immigrating to America will be receiving "training in civilization" and then be joining up with the growing "advanced, international army of the proletariat" who will go forward to not only inspire the idea of more vigorous striking by transferring what they learned in Russia to the US, but who will also assist in the struggle back "home" both through this effort and pushing for material support. This isn't happening right now, because there isn't any "advanced, international army of the proletariat" in the US to join up with, not only because the left is fucking dead but because the jobs being offered and the conditions that exist in many places aren't exactly what one would call "advanced", at least in regards to the feudal to capitalist jump that was Russia to America. Most of the time now its manufacturing industry to manufacturing industry or industrialized agricultural work to industrialized agricultural work. There is also no hope of this >>2723503 happening.

I had a thought recently – are organizations which deal with these two fields in fact organs for the pacifying of the working class? Think about it – what do the bourgeoisie tell the proles when they speak out against inequality? "You are the only ones responsible for your actions! Your behavior, success, and attitudes are all within your head and are a matter of you simply wanting to take accountability! You choose whether to be the victim or the hero!" These phrases seem to echo the classical justification of the ruling class over the working one, telling its members that they are all able to achieve greatly in life and that nobody is holding them back – when in fact the ruling class actively works to prevent this from happening by diverting efforts that may be used to provide opportunities for the working class to their own gain instead, which often results in the impoverishment of such in several facets. This may be observed through the refusal to relinquish the means of production and from that the means of subsistence as would be most suitable for the workers, where they here become de-alienated and invest in the things that matter to them, such as proper education and healthcare; things that ultimately improve their lives and actually bring them success and satisfaction. Psychology and psychiatry on the other hand are weaponized to label those who believe themselves cheated on a grand scale as those suffering from some kind of complex, and insist they have a scientific method that is used for this diagnosis, and so it must be correct against the individual's feelings of being slighted. Otherwise, if people cannot be fed the line that they too may be successful if they only will themselves to, then they are told to cope and settle for an inferior life – "Well, you may not be able to be wealthy in your lifetime, but that doesn't stop you from going out and making a happy life for your own self." Drugs play into this as well, going beyond what is basically therapy into physically altering the brain with chemicals designed to prevent anxiety, instead to feel like only maintaining complacency.

To elaborate on the path that people take, think about how unsatisfied and unsuccessful people are produced – whoever wanted from childhood to fail at life? It's in the interest of all people to establish a desired life, to promote life itsePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

The post I was replying to was saying that rationality causes depression. I'm saying the opposite. I explained that the effect of depression increasing rationality confounds experimental evidence that depression and rationality are correlated, which is based on the common, and likely mistaken, assumption that a person's intelligence test results are stable. The correlation is likely because people would be tested by surveying for depression (or symptoms) and testing, then looking for correlation. This doesn't control for the effect of depression on a person's results.

I just mean that interregnum in which England (in his example) passes a referendum to end exploitation, including interest. What are /leftypol/‘s thoughts on the Shakhty Case, and purported “show trials” in general? A lot of people seem to claim they were all fabricated by Stalin in order to redirect public unrest for the state onto “economic counterrevolutionaries” and in extension give ammunition for his argument that rapid industrialization and collectivization was necessary to combat imminent capitalist nations aggression both externally and internally.

“In 1928, the local OGPU arrested a group of engineers, including Peter Palchinsky, Nikolai von Meck and A. F. Velichko, in the North Caucasus town of Shakhty, accusing them of conspiring with former owners of coal mines (living abroad and barred from the Soviet Union since the Revolution) to sabotage the Soviet economy […] The trial resulted in five of the 53 accused engineers being sentenced to death and another 44 sent to prison. Among those accused in similar trials and executed was Nikolai Karlovich von Meck, Tchaikovsky's nephew by marriage, who was accused of "wrecking" the state railway system. The trial marked the beginning of ‘wrecking’ as a crime within the Soviet Union, as found in Article 58 (RSFSR Penal Code).”

Paul Cockshott: Smith Marx and Unproductive Labour

https://paulcockshott.wordpress.com/2018/04/28/smith-marx-and-unproductive-labour/ || http://archive.is/icre0

>> [Adam Smith's] two criteria for labour to be productive were:

>> - 1. The labour must be employed out of capital not revenue.

>> - 2. The labour must result in a persistent vendible product, something that lasts beyond the moment in which the labour is produced.

>> For Smith, both these had to be true for work to be productive.

>> In his notes on Smith in Theories of Surplus Value, Marx weakened the definition so that only the first criterion was needed. Any work that was employed out of capital should, he said, be counted as productive.

>> However, he later seemed to have realised the inadequacy of this simple criterion, when he argued that labour employed by merchants could not count as productive, since buying and selling was not itself a productive activity (Capital III, Chapter XVII). In effect, he shifted back to accepting Smith’s rule that to count as productive labour had to be both physically productive and employed out of capital. This extension is generally accepted by subsequent Marxist economists who treat finance, for example, as an unproductive activity.

>> In effect, there is an unacknowledged convergence on the Smithian emphasis on employment out of capital not revenue plus the need for a material product.

I.e. Cockshott rejects Marx's position in Theories of Surplus Value and supports Adam Smith's definition of productive labour.

Cockshott is wrong. As luxemberg explains in the accumulation of capital:

[Adam] Smith…did not differentiate the twofold character of value-creating labour.… Failure to differentiate between the two aspects of commodity-producing labour as concrete and useful labour on the one hand, and abstract and socially necessary labour on the other, indeed forms one of the most important characteristics of the theory of value as conceived not only by Smith but by all members of the classical school.

Disregarding all social consequences, classical economics recognized that human labour alone is the factor which creates value, and it worked out this theory to that degree of clarity which we meet in [David] Ricardo’s formulation. There is a fundamental distinction, however, between Marx’s theory of value and Ricardo’s, a distinction that has been misunderstood not only by bourgeois economists but also in most cases by the popularizers of Marx’s doctrine: Ricardo, conceiving as he did, of bourgeois economy in terms of natural law, believed also that the creation of value, too, is a natural property of human labour, of the specific and concrete labour of the individual human being.

This view is even more blatantly revealed in the writings of Adam Smith who for instance declares what he calls the “propensity to exchange” to be a quality peculiar to human nature, having looked for it in vain in animals, particularly in dogs. And although he doubted the existence of the propensity to exchange in animals, Smith [inconsistently] attributed to animal as well as human labour the faculty of creating value, especially when he occasionally relapses into the Physiocratic doctrine.

> No equal capital puts into motion a greater quantity of productive labour than that of the farmer. Not only his labouring servants, but his labouring cattle, are productive labourers.…

The labourers and labouring cattle, therefore, employed in agriculture, not only occasion, like the workmen in manufactures, the reproduction of value equal to their own consumption, or to the capital which employs them, together with its owner’s profits, they regularly occasion the Post too long. About what specifically?

There are three position:

1) (full Marx): Smith's 1st criteria only

2) (revised Marx): Smith's 1st criteria only, unless it's mercanitle labour

3) (full Smith): Both 1st and 2nd criteria have to apply

Which one do you support and why? The quote seems to suggest #1, but as any wall-of-text quote given without explanation in full tradition of LeftCom-posters it is subject to many interpretations.
