Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread:

Post all such questions here. I'll start with a few of my own.

As a non-Muslim (non-religious period) I wonder about the notion that God (Allah) "wants" things from us. "Wanting" to me feels like it implies a kind of inferior state, as though one was lacking something. Does Allah "want" things from mankind? To follow certain rules perhaps? Or is it not a matter of "wanting" but something else?

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته وسلام على المرسلين والحمد لله رب العالمين أما بعد

A couple of days ago someone mentioned starting a thread for learning Arabic, I thought it was a good idea so here it is. My thought is that we can share resources and ask each other questions about the language.

I'll start off with two great resources that'll take you quite far. They're aimed at someone who knows the Arabic script but not anything else. After these you should be at a level where you can start studying Arabic in Arabic.

1. Madinah series, which is used at the Islamic University in Madinah and very beginner friendly(as said above you just need to know the alphabet). It consists of three textbooks in Arabic, along with three in English explaining the grammar of each lesson, and an answer key. There's also a lot of complementary material in form of grammar summaries etc. Everything can be found for free(no copyright) at

lqtoronto.com

2. Simplified Arabic by Arthur Upson. Another great book available free(copyright expired). It's layed out in terms of 200 chapters each accompinied by translation excercies with answer keys. Ideal for self studying. It can be found at https://archive.org/details/arabicsimplified00upsouoft

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

This board is the 8chan Masjid and should be treated as such. It is a place for Muslims to gather and discuss Islam and not intended as a place where Muslims must defend themselves or their religion from outsiders. If you would not do it in a real mosque in the real world, then don't do it here.

Controversial topics of discussion are permitted, but deliberate trolling/baiting and personal attacks will not be tolerated. /pol/-like behavior can stay on /pol/.

ATTACK THE ARGUMENT, NOT THE POSTER

If you desire Sunni only discussion, head over to >>>/asj/

If you want to jihadist LARP, go to >>>/islamicstate/

If you want Quranist discussion, go to >>>/modernislam/

We are not for the comparison of the various world's religions. There are many, many other boards for that. Use them.

If you'd like to suggest links or tips for this sticky, be sure to let me know!

There will no longer be bans for disagreements over politics. Especially if it is a Volunteer banning someone for disagreeing with him. Abuse of power will not be tolerated.

Further, I will reiterate that ALL Muslims, including the ones you don't particularly like, are welcome on this board. If you don't like Shi'a, so be it. The board doesn't care. That's between you and Allah.

He says this rule only applies to idol making and worshiping. Is this true? If not then what is the ruling on anime and cartoons in general?

You start from the premise of blanket takfir on all muslims with political authority and then work backwards. Egypt is kaffir because they are friends with saudi. Saudi is kaffir because they are friends with egypt. It’s pure circular reasoning.

Blatantly false, qatar gives the most in terms of money and iran gives in terms of weapons.

Again, false, egypt is an anti islamic dictatorship right now and saudi supporting that says a lot.

الله‎

Allah, The Unmoved Mover

>And it will not be possible to be and not to be the same thing, except in virtue of an ambiguity, just as if one whom we call ‘man’, others were to call ‘not-man’; but the point in question is not this, whether the same thing can at the same time be and not be a man in name, but whether it can in fact. – Aristotle, Metaphysics

>Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

>1 Samuel 15:29 “And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.”

>Job 9:32 “For He is not a man as I am that I may answer Him, that we may go to court together.”

The concept of trinity disagrees with both the scripture of the Hebrews and the logic of the Greeks – the two very things Hellenist Jews wanted so desperately to combine when they contrived Christianity.

The laws of the excluded middle and contradiction do not undermine monotheism, they demand it. They undermine the trinity which is rank paganism. Logic can be seen as negative theology (what God isn’t) while revelation is positive theology (what God is). Monotheism can only be undermined when the imperfect reasoning abilities of men are placed above revelation – which is exactly what the trinity doctrine does.

Divinity can be seen as “irrational” in the sense that the human mind alone cannot be expected to properly quantify it, hence the need for revelation from above. If we accept the premise of unrevealed divinity and its “irrationality” then monotheism is less irrational a priori than polytheism. In this same manner Unitarianism is less irrational than Trinitarianism. Then if we accept the premise of revealed divinity along with the veracity of Abrahamic scripture we find that monotheism is more veracious a posteriori than polytheism;Post too long. Face it, you wouldn’t be satisfied unless the entire pseudo-athanasian was contained in the Quran. It’s lost on no one that you demand psuedo-athanasian creed in my scripture but not yours. You demand psuedo-athanasian creed from the tongue of my prophet but not the tongue of your mangod. Your anti-unitarian/anti-binitarian bigotry has no justification as you trinnies don’t have a monopoly on the NT (or OT) and never did. There are millions of real monotheists that claim OT or OT+NT and well - trinnies are the fifth wheel.

There is nothing triune about that, it never says they are god or even attributes of god. That formulation means baptize in name of God, his prophet, and the one who gave the prophet revelation - Gabriel. You roman pagans wanted a triune so you cobbled together what you could get.

Is the "wahabi" pejorative just a baseless ad hominem? Are they truly a radical faction/movement within Islam or are they leading Islam on the right path?

Are the Salafis to be trusted or are they ruining Islam?

At one point /pol/ made a big deal about that verse so I thought about it for a while. For one thing chapter 33 talks a lot about relationships especially concerning prophet muhammad (pbuh) but it all pertains to people in general through application of fiqh, like you said. As for the ayah 33:53 specifically, I think they confuse shyness and autism in a similar way to how they confuse showing some mercy and forgiveness with being a cuck… if nothing else, they should understand that an important leader with many responsibilities would be hindered if his followers didn't respect his privacy and were intent on chatting and making small talk with him all the time.

Part of the greatness of the Quran is that it preserves the final revelation to the final prophet. That's huge insight into the entirety of and indeed the finale of the Prophetic age. Which is more consistent with Islam, political activism or political quietism? Are they both legitimate? What do you think about political rallies and marches?

I personally feel that I am not entitled to have an opinion on things I don't understand which is why I lean toward quietism. I don't even read the news. I feel like it would be dishonest to take a strong stance on things I honestly know little to nothing about, but it seems like nowadays everyone is under pressure to have strong opinions on a variety of very complex issues. Are people obligated to participate in social and political struggles and debates? Is it irresponsible, maybe even cowardly, to sit on the sidelines and simply mind one's own business? I'm struggling with these questions and I don't know what their resolution is.

Muslims and Apostolics have lived side by side in numerous lands for longer than Protestantism even existed. The real macro-antagonists are protestants and protestants 2.0 (secularists). The degree to which Apostolics embrace barnyard Islamophobia is the degree to which they have been protestantized. I've seen this especially when protestant Americans "become orthodox" and immediately begin rehabilitating obscure figures from orthodox history that had fought muslims. That's unacceptable and their hero, Vladimir Putin doesn't tolerate Islamophobia in his own country.

And we see it as bizarre when an American Christian declares himself to be a Russian Christian - or vice versa. It'd be akin to an Egyptian Muslim saying he is now an Indonesian Muslim. These are tumbleweeds.

christians are easier to get along with than jews, theologically and socially

Hello /islam/ I have a problem that I think only you could guys could stand a chance at helping me with.

First I want to say that I love and respect Islam the same way Adolf Hitler did. There are certain cultural practices that I don't approve of and I hate moderate Islam with its humanist egalitarian bent. However true Islam and its holy books I appreciate very much.

That said I don't identify as a muslim. If I have to identify myself I will say various different things at different times, usually pagan though. My identity is completely fluid really, it depends who I'm talking to. I know so much about the various religions that I can pass myself as whatever I want.

Now here is my problem. Every woman I ever meet is an anti-natalist and doesn't want to have children. They call themselves white nationalists, traditionalists, and whatever else but they ALWAYS never want to have any children. No matter what I try I can't convince them to even say "I might have children one day". No, they flat out want to sterilize themselves. There is something wrong with our women that they don't want to breed.

Now, I understand there will be those here offended that I want to breed within my own ethnic group. I'm Dutch and I only want to breed with Dutch. I might make exceptions for someone who comes from a neighboring country like Germany but that is it. Even other whites I won't breed with. Now with that aside…

What is the secret to making women become pro-natalist? What does /islam/ do right in this regard? How do I apply the Islamic wisdom in my life to convince a woman to not be barren and to actually have a ☻ing child?

If I have to convert to Islam I will do it. If I have to convert the women around me also to Islam I will do it (if I possibly can). I'm not sure what is more important to you Muslims, whether someone "converts" and says "I am a muslim" or whether they simply submit themselves to god, love god, and serve him. When it comes to Christians it seems their goal it to make people give lip service to the Church, the more people calling themselves Christians the better,Post too long. It seems like you are adopting a very standoffish position for no reason. Most muslims are married to people of the same ethnicity. That’s fine.

Some people on /islam/ have multicultural marriages, others have monocultural marriages. Multicultural marriage is not something new to Islamic society, it’s actually been widely practiced for 1439 years and has resulted in the development of new cultures and ethnic groups. Cultures and ethnes are in perpetual flux - going back enough you have ancestors that couldn’t understand if you tried to speak to them in Dutch and they couldn’t conceive of “Holland.”

>but when you guys let the humanist egalitarian "we are all equal"

No, we are not all equal before God. But the matter is not race, see pic related.

>and "tolerate homosexuals" blight in then I'm done.

Show me one muslim country that allows gay marriage. We’re only responsible for muslim countries, we’re not responsible for the moral fabric of societies when we are a (sometimes hated and feared) minority.

>Islam has to be strong enough to defend itself against degeneracy and there's clearly a lot of Muslims who can't do this.

Islam IS strong enough by the promise of Allah. Clearly a lot of Muslims are not properly practicing. That’s why no one converts to Muslims they convert to Islam.

The domestic cat is a revered animal in Islam.Admired for its cleanliness as well as for being loved by the Islamic prophet Muhammad, the cat is considered "the quintessential pet" by Muslims.

In Islamic tradition, cats are admired for their cleanliness. They are thought to be ritually clean, unlike dogs, and are thus allowed to enter homes and even mosques, including Masjid al-Haram. Food sampled by cats is considered halal and water from which cats have drunk is permitted for wudu.

Conclusion: if you have a dog as a pet, you are not a good Muslim and will go to hell

7b9523 No.20292

>>20290

Cats are considered pure in all the main sects. I haven't found anything about keeping cats being a bad thing.

The Quran itself doesn't say much about dogs being bad. It mentions them once or twice offhandedly. Any rulings on keeping dogs would come from hadith and it's intepretation, and sects and schools of thought tend to differ.

I found this article while looking for info about dogs, and it seems to be pretty good: http://www.virtualmosque.com/islam-studies/faqs-and-fatwas/mans-best-friend-the-islamic-view-on-dogs/ . It only covers the main Sunni schools of thought, but it's a start.

Also I should point out that "impurity" refers to the fact that dog hair and saliva contaminates what it lands on, so you'd have to change your clothes or wash up before prayer. Animals aren't evil, and cruelty to animals is a sin. Being nice to animals still counts as a good deed, and the most commonly used example is about giving a dog water.

Interesting read. What about pigs though? They don't have a very positive image despite being of the smartest animals in the world (they were used to track truffles in the past until people used dogs). I know pork is condemned in Judaism and even Islam.

Being able to track truffles isn't intelligence, it's a sense of smell. As for the animal themselves, they're just pigs. We don't eat them, that's it. We also don't eat cats or dogs. Doesn't stop us from having them as pets.

I have dogs and cats. Dogs are definitely much better companions if you are active and interesting.

Cats are better for anti-social people who don't want much responsibility or interaction.

I would but as a rule I don't post OC photos of any sort on here, as this way I don't have to be worried about possibly getting doxxed somehow. Checkmate FBI.
