ITT: share /co/ related material with other anons - cartoons, comics, etc.

Due to the smaller userbase of comics compared to films and video games, torrents are usually less seeded, if they even exist. MEGA links will be primarily used as they are faster and reliable for the immediate future.

Lots of comics and cartoons are available on sites like Kisscartoons.io and Readcomicsonline.com

What'd you think of the real thing?

I'll be back tomorrow with more Ditko, with more Peter, with more of the real thing!

>Spider Man became so surprised his pupils popped out of his mask.

I think I prefer his costume without the web armpits.

Are you going to do any other issues?

Is it just me or was Peter this close to becoming a High Scorer?

The quality of the film itself is irrelevant. I want to see trailers that make you watch them over and over and that get people excited to go see the film.

Regardless of what people thought of Suicide Squad, it had a great trailer and the box office reflected that.

>Thor Ragnarok not being shit

It was shit, but just a different flavor that most other Marvel movies.

Comedy in it had too much juvenile humor with no thought put into it. You have to be a retard to laugh at things like alien shitting/laying eggs or portal being named Devil's Anus just when they are shoved into your face without any sort of a setup. Not to mention the 'slapstick humor' which is just people tripping, fumbling, and or get smacked in the face.

Story was also kind of lackluster. The worst part of it was Valkyrie. If she was the one to sacrifice herself in fight against Hela to make up for leaving her sisters to die in the past, it would nicely complete her character arc. Instead her story just fizzles out instead with her just tossing some mooks around. Instead, we get Karl Urban the best character in the movie just 'buying time' by leaving the ship to shoot at copy pasted minions. This was pretty pointless, since he could simply keep shooting from ship's door, keeping minions at bay, and accomplishing the same thing but without dying. Banner's thing was pretty stupid too. 'Oh no, I can't turn back into Hulk, except I actually can when I need to.'

Kirby inspired costumes and set design, and decent Thor vs Hulk fight was all that the movie had going for it.

>this one was totally different, guize!

What's with Disneyplebs and their insistence on pretending the latest piece of shit is always the best?

So I just watched the original series and I was surprised how well it holds up. It's pretty much the quintessential globe-trotting adventure put to film. The first thing that catches attention is that it's not in any way a kids show, it could have easily been a live action serial as most stories are told in a kinda pulpy detective-adventure style, with everyone constantly getting punched, shot, exploded and strangled, wenches get kissed etc. What was really surprising is that there's no preset formula for the episodes - while you can always rely on Race to guerilla warfare through the natives, the show loves to constantly incapacitate and separate everyone, so pretty much anything can happen in an episode.

The animation is really nice, now, mind you, this is still Hanna-Barbera, so a lot of limited animation is in use and unintentional hilarity resulting from it, but together with that deep shaded comic book look and phenomenal OST it works, and still holds up better than a lot of subsequent cartoons (not to mention that shows today ape that style ironically), especially when you consider how ridiculously old the show is. It's so old, it predates even the original Star Trek, so imagine living in a time when there's pretty much nothing to watch or to do and suddenly this comes along. No wonder it became such a big hit.

Some choice episodes to check if you don't want to watch the entire show: The House of Seven Gargoyles, The Quetong Missile Mystery, Shadow of the Condor, The Devil's Tower.

Gonna be checking the 90s reboot now. Do stay away from the "New adventures" though, now that's trash.

You got a problem with that anon. It's important to remember when a cartoon hero could kill their enemies.

I never got the point of realistic cartoons. If you want to do realism just make a goddamn live action show. It costs way less and is way easier. Animation should be trying to do what no other medium can, not trying to imitate what other mediums can do much better

Posting all available clips and info for the Tom Hardy film in this thread. Hopefully once it releases on October 5th we will have all seen it and can discuss how true it was to the comics.

Starting in Chronological order with the first teaser trailer without CGI which led people to believe Venom wouldn't actually be in the film for more than a few minutes. As the later trailers show, a bunch of these scenes actually had the symbiote in them, it just wasn't completed yet.

You mean nigger syndrome.

I saw this last night, someone else in this thread said it and I agree, the soundtrack is shit. Two rap songs, horrible ones at that, and a generic orchestral score. Outside of that though, it was a blast and I enjoyed it a great deal. The back and forth between Eddy and Venom was great., I think the effects were well done and it was nice to see a cape movie that wasn't a Disney "quip a minute" blockbuster. Also got to see She-Venom, which was nice. Here is hoping to more good things to come. Maybe, just maybe, Sony has finally figured out how to make a good cape movie.

I saw it last night and there are only a few bad things I can say about the movie:

Its shit, through and through.

>Shaky cam shit

The actions scenes could get a little hard to follow with all the motion from the camera, with the CG on top of it. Never enough to ruin a scene but was kinda distracting, especially during the final fight, where tendrils and punches are flying all over.

The scenes between when Eddie was infected with Venom and when Venom actually shows himself are kinda long and could be cut down. A few of them got pretty cringy too.

All in all though, it was not a bad movie, and I would probably watch it again sometime in the near future. If they do another movie, I would consider going to see it.

I guess we'll never know since the show was killed before it really grew, but I do think it would be harder to become a more traditional Batman show since even the few traditional enemies were given new twists: Dent was an unrepentant asshole, Ra's was more of a personal nemesis for Alfred and Katana, Man-Bat was more heroic just like in the comics, Deathstroke's whole backstory, etc. Killer Croc was the only one that felt traditional, and even reminded me of how Gerry Conway characterized him initially.

>I also still like the comic tie-in as well, and sometimes it's even better than the show itself.

Fuck yeah. I remember collecting the comics as a kid when the show had a hiatus. They did a lot with Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Black Mask, in particular.

>Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Black Mask,

That's because they barley covered them in the show. Except for Ivy

File: bd1b05c801b7d7a⋯.jpg (23.38 KB, 640x480, 4:3, 084.jpg)

I wonder how exactly Black Mask even eats if he has the mask permanently seared to his head. Plus The Batman's version is shown to never actually open his skull mouth to speak.

Ivy didn't do much in the show either. Beyond her origin two-parter and one other episode, she had no more major roles.

Plenty of time for pointless Joker and Penguin stories, though.

The OK K.O. special crossover nexus aired tonight. It was alright though keeping it at only 11 minutes felt rushed. Most of the best jokes were just cameos of other Cartoon Network characters.

What are your hopes for the resurrection of Harvey Birdman, /co/?

I for one am a little disappointed that it's going to be fully animated instead of the awkward, disjointed yet somehow incredibly aesthetic animation seen in the first season and in other shows like Sealab 2021

Saw it. Thoughts:

To describe it as "Trump bashing" is brainlet tier. Very little of it has anything to do with anything related to Trump.

The special is weird, in a good way. It drops you in expecting you know all about Harvey Birdman and feels like an inside joke they've spent ten years dreaming up. For example, there's a musical number with Phil and Reducto. There are points where you have no idea what's going on, and I think that was the intention.

Harvey Birdman having died turns out to be a part of the plot.

They got the original guy to do a new version of the intro song, and it's terrible.

Gary Cole sounds exactly the same as he does in the series. Colbert has gotten a little higher pitched in his delivery, and Paget Brewster sounds a bit too womanly for Birdgirl

Peanut is in it, with voice lines.

X the Eliminator is also in it, and Peter MacNicol still has it.

It's really hard to put a rating on it. It's both Harvey Birdman and it's own thing. So I'm going to go with "it wasn't what I was expecting."

Yeah, I'm not supporiting anything with Colbert. While we all liked him when the original cartoon was out, I think that relationship has been fucking destroyed to the point that most anons would laugh hysterically if he died.

ITT: We post QUALITY cartoons

24 posts and 23 image replies omitted. Click reply to view.

All I remember is this is an animated debut for a new vocaloid, and most other videos with her aren't of the same high quality.

Because you like bad art. You're like one of those rednecks that grew up drinking mountain dew and thinks it's the best thing ever because of it

Truth of the matter is that real art began fading out after the end of ww2, and officially died in the 60s. Any examples of """quality""" you bring up fom the modern era would be laughed out the door in a pre-cold war world

The cartoons made back in the 80s and 90s were just as poorly drawn, sloppy and soulless as the ones made now (>>1015871 and >>1016049 are proof of that), they just happened to have a fancier coat of paint, distracting you from the decadence

>Every cartoon after the 60's is shit without exception

You're not gonna catch any fish if your bait is too big for your pole.

No, every cartoon after the 50s is shit. Learn to read retard.

And on that note, the 50s themselves were when the decay really began to set in. The classically trained animators began experimenting with more stylized, graphic art, having grown tired of the more fleshy, naturalistic look that Disney and Fleischer developed and popularized.

This provided the perfect opportunity for amateurs to sneak in. People who actually cared about art could tell how bad this new generation was at art, but tv executives couldn't tell the difference, so they let these retards slip by

Same goes for fine art, just replace "executive" with "critic"

It's a damn shame too, because I actually really like skillfully drawn/painted abstract art

Yeah, several decades of cartoons are completely worthless because they don't meet your standards or because of "decadence", it seems to me that the only thing you're arguing for is that cartoons would be better if they all looked like Fleischer or old Disney toons and never attempted to branch out and do their own thing.

File: 6e6354214d7a669⋯.png (247.89 KB, 1280x1244, 320:311, tumblr_pgcl6uQsaE1v9hklgo1….png)

>Topping the world wide box office two weeks in a row and breaking all kinds of records this October is the film Venom. Produced by Israeli businessman, Avi Arad, and directed by American Jew, Ruben Fleischer, Venom is another movie based off of Marvel comic books. Created in the 1980s by writer David Michelinie and artist Todd McFarlane as an antagonist in the The Amazing Spider-man series, Venom quickly grew in popularity and became big enough to warrant being the lead in his own comic books separate from Spider-Man. Making the transformation from a villain to an anti-hero, to a hero, Venom has become one of Marvel’s most popular characters.

>Cannibalism isn’t the only questionable thing in the movie, after all, from the producer to the director to the screenwriters, nearly everyone involved in this film is Jewish, so it’s going to naturally be full of degeneracy, but the cannibalism is by far the most apparent subversive element in the film. There’s a scene early on where Eddie, under the influences of the Symbiote grows incredibly hungry and seeks out flesh to consume, jumping into a lobster tank and eating the crustaceans raw, because their cooked counterparts disgusted him as their flesh was already dead. Venom is a raw meat only sort of a guy. Now if the scenes of Venom eating people were portrayed as being horrific, then maybe this article would be asinine, and I’d be nothing more than a busy body complaining over lowbrow entertainment being lowbrow entertainment, but the scenes aren’t portrayed as horrifying. They are portrayed as either funny or exciting, but never disturbing. Both Eddie and his ex-fiance Anne discuss how good it felt to be Venom, how good it felt to eat people. Being Venom isn’t something to reject and try to fight, it’s something to embrace and enjoy. The film ends with the line, “The way I see it, we can do whatever we want.” This is the Symbiote talking to Eddie, and Eddie agrees.

Realism and detail =/= quality. The conan picture in the middle for example look like dogshit.

No, the issue with the calarts style isn't a lack of realism or detail, it's a lack of basic artistic principals. Faces float in front of heads, heads float in front of bodies, and bodies float in front of limbs; there's no construction to speak of, and the characters feel like a bunch of flat colored blobs floating on top of eachother. Things like center of gravity, line of action and overlapping action are also completely absent, leading to a floaty, weightless feeling, and the colors are all putrid primaries and secondaries.

Pic related isn't really very realistic, but it is very well drawn. Mickey's features fit into his skull; his clothing wraps around his body and also responds to gravity; he has a very distinct and recognizable silhouette; his pose is asymmetrical; ect.

Basically, my point is, the issue with the calarts style isn't "IT NEEDS MORE DETAILS AND REALISM!!! CARTOONS SHOULDN'T BE CARTOONS OR HAVE ANY STYLE OTHER THAN REAL LIFE". If that was the case than animation wouldn't exist to begin with.

The issue isn't that the style is simple. Spongebob is simple but it looks fantastic. No, It's much deeper than that. The real problem is that it's completely undisciplined and lazy.

Ren and Stimpy went off model in a very deliberate and stylized fashion, and looks great because of it; Steven Universe goes off model because it's a directionless mess and looks like shit. Dexter's lab was deliberately stylized and abstract, giving it a very memorable look. OKKO is abstract because none of the people working on it know how to draw. The point is, standards and style aren't the issue, it's plain old skill

This. Realism is a resource.

This but also because CalArts is too fucking soft. It's too cutesy.

There's nothing wrong with a cutesy art style as long as it isn't oversatured and looks good, but Calarts is a fucking infestation right now and it rarely looks better than average on a good day.

File: 44468f0d157bc61⋯.jpg (23.58 KB, 300x300, 1:1, lost_finnish_man.jpg)

Of course, but not when you're doing, say, an action show, or if the market is oversaturated with it, as you say.

I mean, you wouldn't use simple stick figures for a Patrician-tier space opera, would you? It's completely emasculating and isn't serious at all. This is why I thought the new Thundercats was especially shit, because it does not fit at all.
